Key Statistics Insights:
1. Win rate is an illusion — it seems acceptable but conceals the losing nature of the channel.
Winning nearly 37–38% of all trades, it gives an impression of near-even performance. However, the average loss (−200 pips) is more than double the average win (+95 pips), which means that in order to break even, the channel requires more than 68% of correct predictions. It fails to reach that goal by roughly 30 percentage points every month of the year — and never came close during that whole time period.
2. Every month was losing — there were no exceptions.
The 12 months of simulation were all negative — not a single "good month" was observed during that year. The most profitable month showed a loss of 515 pips, while the worst case scenario resulted in 915 pips lost. For a paying subscriber, this means that the channel never had a period when its fees were covered, which is the red flag in any paid signal provider.
3. The monthly losses increase steadily due to low frequency.
The channel posts only about 2 signals per week, making the monthly loss seem insignificant and infrequent. But in reality, the weekly loss is about −175 pips and accumulates into about −8,300 pips during a year. It means that low frequency does not save the account from losses — it simply makes them easier to overlook.
4. Reward/risk ratio is the main factor behind the losing system — not win rate.
Reward/risk ratio of 0.475 means that every winner pays back less than half of the losing trade. Even the increase in win rate would not help this system to work — the arithmetic shows that the winners should become bigger in comparison with losers in order for the system to become profitable.
The Bottom Line
V.Capital Academy has been working for three years, gathered about 18,500 subscribers and trades Gold only during London session days and swings. At first glance, it seems like a legit channel – active, certain sessions, history. The figures speak another language.
The 38% success rate together with the reward/risk ratio equal to 0.475 means that, on average, the wins (+95 pips) do not even half of the losses (−200 pips). This combination results in structural non-profitability: the win-rate should be more or less 68% to cover all risks, and the channel significantly underachieves this mark each month. In a one-year simulation created according to the presented figures, each of the 12 months ends up with negative result with an average monthly loss of 500-900 pips and average weekly loss of about 175 pips. Due to low-frequency of signals and small number of positions per week, the losses can go unnoticed due to time factor and luck.
Our Rating: Bad
Final verdict: Not recommended. It can be interesting to the traders who want a quiet channel with few signals to watch; however, the statistics will guarantee slow and consistent drawdown. Without any changes in the risk management model (broader targets, narrower stops), it won't be profitable anyway.
