Key Statistics Insights:
1. The channel must be correct more than twice as often as it is, but it cannot.
At a 32% success rate, Gold signals could break even if the winners would pay 0.54 times bigger than losers. However, winners at STG FX pay 0.54 times smaller than losers. This disparity is everything one needs to know because the channel is not just unlucky, it is losing money mathematically even before it starts to send signals.
2. Each month is negative — there is no "good month".
For all 13 months that were observed, none was positive. Even the most positive month lost almost 350 pips while the most negative bled over 1,200. So, there is no way any subscriber could take some rest from losses during any period.
3. Streaks of losers are usual rather than rare.
If we speak about the 32% success rate, we mean that two of every three signals are negative. Thus, in 5 signals, usually, 3-4 are losers. But since each loss is twice as profitable as each winner, one losing week erases profits earned during an entire month.
4. Holding for 8 hours makes the situation worse.
To make a profit of 55 pips in one trade, the signals should stay open for 8 hours but the risk is 110 pips. It is not profitable in terms of time and risk, especially in Gold, where 8 hours can move 110 pips against your position.
5. The volume does not help — it only increases the loss.
Since there are 0-1 signals per day, the channel loses −197 pips per week, −851 per month, and −10,219 per year. And even adding more signals will not change anything, because every new signal has negative expectancy.
The Bottom Line
It has been running for a year already, has 7,278 subscribers and trades Gold on London and New York sessions. Based on those facts, it seems like a legitimate day-trading channel. But once again, numbers do not lie.
First of all, 32% is the winning percentage of the signals. This figure by itself is not a reason to discard the channel as the losing systems tend to have a lot more losses than wins. However, what the channel does with its losses and wins is what makes things clear.
The average value of the winning signals is 55 pips while that of the losing ones is 110 pips. The reward/risk ratio of 0.54 shows that one losing deal equals two wins in terms of money. With such winning percentage and such reward/risk ratio, the channel needs a winner to be 2.1 times bigger than a loser to break even. In this case, winners are way smaller than it should be.
As a result, the system generates a negative result in each and every month. Having worked on Gold during the past year, it has already lost 10,200 pips which makes almost 200 pips per week. The best month resulted in a loss. The worst month cost the traders more than 1,200 pips.
There is no way to save the situation here. Low amount of daily signals (0-1) means that traders cannot try to make it back in the next deal. The average holding period of 8 hours for the deal having the goal of 55 pips means that a deal stays open for most part of the day to get a small win while the stop-out of the position results in the loss equaling two winners.
What works for the channel: It is free; the market and sessions are stated clearly; the number of deals per day is moderate for a part-time trader.
What does not work for the channel: All the factors responsible for profitability. The combination of the 32% win rate and 0.54 reward/risk ratio guarantees losses no matter how the trader tries to change something in the process of trading.
Our Rating: Bad
Final verdict: To sum it up, this channel is far from being a scam, but it offers nothing good to its traders. Trading its signals is like giving the money to the exchange without getting anything in return.
