Key Statistics Insights:
1. The trading system is losing money despite having more than 35% winning trades.
At first glance, 35% win rate seems like something worth being proud of, but it is absolutely insufficient to cover the fact that each loss is almost two times higher than each win. As the result, there is no random unlucky trades; there is steady loss of capital.
2. The gold is highly volatile market but also the market where the most money was lost.
XAU/USD gave the largest number of trading signals of all markets — 88 per year — second only to EUR/USD, however, the loss was 2,000 pips or more. High volatility led not to profits but to increased negative expectancy.
3. Largest losing trade is significantly larger than largest winning trade.
The largest winning trade during the test period was +156 pips while the largest losing trade was -198 pips. While the difference between these two values looks not really impressive, it adds up to thousands pips of losses over the year.
4. The channel lost money during every month of the year without exceptions.
During all 12 months of testing there was no single profitable month; not even a small one. The monthly loss varied from approximately -1,490 pips to -2,340 pips.
The Bottom Line
The channel named Sureshot FX was founded six years ago and has attracted over 51,000 followers. The channel provides trading signals for both major and minor forex pairs, gold, US30, and US100 on London and Asia sessions. At first glance, the channel seems to be successful and active providing signals 1–2 times per day and having holding period of about 8 hours on average.
Yet, the statistics are very disappointing in practice. With 35% win rate, average win of 35 pips and average loss of 60 pips, the channel has extremely poor reward/risk ratio equal to 0.58. Such combination gives very low negative expectancy of the channel, which is about –27 pips per signal. During one-year test of the channel, the result was a loss of almost 23,265 pips, which is about –447 pips per week. None of months turned out to be profitable for subscribers during the whole year.
Despite the occasional profit made from good signals (+156 pips in the best case), the losses always prevailed. For instance, the worst trade produced –198 pips loss. The most harmful instruments for subscribers in that period were gold, EUR/USD and GBP/USD. No asset finished the year with positive balance.
Our Rating: Bad
Final verdict: despite being free, long-term and popular, the channel Sureshot FX has very unfavorable math of trading signals. Low win rate and poor reward/risk ratio increase the possibility to lose rather than earn on it for subscribers.
