Key Statistics Insights:

1. Mathematically, the channel is below breakeven.

For a reward/risk ratio of 2.07, a signal provider needs approximately 33% win rate in order to breakeven without accounting for any costs. Given that the channel's rate is 32.8%, the system is automatically set for losses, irrespective of how profitable the particular decision appears. This is perhaps the key insight into why the channel is losing money – it is not unlucky, but just overvalued.

2. Losses are consistently negative — there are no "good months".

All twelve months of the 12-month period have been negative, starting from about -610 and up to -1,365 pips. The consistency is in itself informative: a random system with 33% win rate should produce at least some positive months. The fact that all 13 periods are negative proves the reliability of the effect created by the costs and low win rate.

3. Gold is the most promising and at the same time dangerous instrument.

GOLD is the instrument with the highest win rate (36.4%) and highest average profit (+142 pips), still managing to lose almost 1,100 pips during the year. The high volatility of the instrument means that each winning trade produces high pip numbers (+290 pips being the maximum), but each losing trade does the same. Volatility helps to look better in the win column, but reduces the account balance gradually.

4. Volume cannot help – the most active instruments have the largest losses.

GBP/USD and EUR/USD have provided the biggest number of signals (29 and 26 correspondingly), creating the largest losses (-2,018 and -1,742 pips correspondingly). Meanwhile, less active currencies like AUD/USD and USD/CAD provide similar losses for their signals – the problem is not in frequency, but in the ratio of wins and losses.

5. The gap between "average profit" and "average loss" is only illusory.

An impressive 145 pips average profit with a 70-pips average loss seems to make a perfect 2:1 system. However, taking into consideration that 33% win rate makes 64 wins and 128 losses per 192 trades, it becomes evident that the math does not work in this case. The marketing "2.07 R/R" and the real "-66 pips per signal" are two different things.

The Bottom Line

Elliott Wave Count works for seven years already, and the subscriber count has reached nearly 200k. This naturally increases the trust factor. Trading is done on GOLD and Forex majors in London session, where day and swing trades take place. No more than 1-2 signals are released a week, and positions are held from 8 hours. On the face of it, the numbers seem very promising: reward/risk is 2.07 with average win of ~145 pips versus average loss of ~70 pips.

However, the really important number is the hidden one: the win rate is only 33%. With the 2.07 R/R, the breakeven is at 33% without taking into account spreads and slippage – meaning that the channel works right at the breakeven line and just below it. Based on 12-month backtesting on eight different instruments with 192 signals, the resulting net negative pips total ~-12,744 pips, or ~-245 pips per week. Each month was in the red without any positive period.

Instrument analysis gives us even more evidence of that. Gold has the best win rate (36.4%) and average win of all tested, but even then it lost almost 1,100 pips. Highest volume pairs – GBP/USD and EUR/USD – lost the most amount of money. The appealing-looking reward/risk ratio is the marketing figure; -~66 pips per trade is the actual number.

Our Rating: Bad

Final verdict: this is the channel with very high subscription base and quite long time of existence. At the same time, the parameters that the channel is using are situated just at the breakeven point. The tiny difference between the parameters and breakeven is enough to make the trading unprofitable every month. The subscriber count and years of experience mean nothing else than longevity and marketing. Without verification of much higher win rate than the declared 33%, there is no statistical reason to use these signals.
